BRUCE TAIT MRS. JOAN TAIT Bruce Malcolm Tait was born March 29, 1902 and died by drowning 1941, he married the former Eliza Jane Draper in 1940. Bruce had one brother Alfred and one sister Anna, He chose farming as his way of life pnH farmed the Tait homestead on Bright Lake. Mrs Magnus Tait nee Joan Duncan was born on June 17, 1831 in the Shetland Islands. Mr & Mrs Tait had been married 31 years when they came to Canada in 1889 and settled on the farm later owned by their son Magnus Tait and presentlt ownes by the latter's son-in-law Alex Reid. After returning to Scotland in 1900 where Mr Tait died in 1902, and after remaining two more years there Mrs Tait came back to Canada. There were fire children in her family-Agnes (Mrs Robert Halerow) Elizabeth (Mrs Andrew Tulloch) an eldest son who lived in the Shetland Islands Magnus Tait and Bruce Tait. MR DAVID TAIT. David Tait was born in the Shetland Islands ' and came to Canada when he was five years old with his parents David Tait and Susanna Malcolrason Tait. Mr Tait established many orchards in this area and on St. Joseph's Island Carterton where he had a nursery. MR. JOHN TAIT. John Tait was born in the Shetland Islands and came to Canada in 1876, coming to Algoma in 1879. Mr Tait began farming in the Township of Bright on the farm now owned by a son John Tait. Mr John Tait (Sr) married a daughter of Mr Thompson and spent many years as a lay minister for the church.
