William Carlye William Carlyle was born La Dumfrieshire, Scotland, and. came to Canada in 1882. After receiving his education in Dufferin School in Toronto, Mr Carlyle went to South Africa where he took part in the Boer War. Returning to Canada, he farmed until 1928 on the farm he sold to Mr. Andy LaRone and which presently is owned by Mr. LaRone's son William. Until his death Mr Carlyle resided in Blind River where he died Jar. 11, 1944. His family included a sister Elizabeth, and three brothers John. Thomas and Edward. Ivan Carlyle was born Nov 17 1936, the only child of Edward Carlyle and Flora Irwin. After receiving education at Iron Bridge and Blind River, Ivan held a teaching position in the Kynoch school. A victim of a car-truck accident in a severe snow storm,, Ivan died Feb 25, 1955, THOMAS CARLYLE. Born in Grey County, Tom Carlyle's birthdate was August 8, 1862. Born to John and Elizabeth Rebecca (Blunt) Carlyle, Tom Carlyle came to Iron Bridge where he met and married Andrina Smith Tulloch on June 8, 1884. They settled on their farm on the Mississauga River where their family was born. Two sons John David and Edward, one daughter Violet and one stepson Jas. Tulloch were the family members. Death came to Tom Carlyle on August 3, 1944. MRS. THOMAS CARLYLE Mrs. Thomas Carlyle nee Andrina Charlotte Smith born May 31, 1857. She was born in the Shetland Islands moved to England in 1875 and in 1878 came to Canada. She married Lawrence Gilbert Tulloch in 1879 but he was tragically killed in a mill accident in 1882 leaving her with one small boy and another yet unborn. In 1884 she married Tom Caylyle and to this union was born John, Edward and Violet. Mr. S. C. Gardiner. Mr. S. C. Gardiner was born in England in 1851, in 1873 he came to Algoma to work in a lumber camp. In 1882 he married Francis Ann Little and the following year they began to homestead their land. Their family consisted of Paul, Mrs New, Mrs A. Carson, Mrs C. R. Allen, Percy and Bert. Mr Gardiner died August 30, 1934. MRS. S.C. GARDINER. Francis Ann Little came to Algoma in 1874 with her father John T. Little. In 1882 she married S. C. Gardiner and they moved to the township of Gladstone in 1883. Mrs Gardiner died in 1914.
