effort required to bring electricity to the Village. In 1925, Mr. Prouse and Mr. M. S. Chapman canvassed all the houses between Whitby and Pickering. They had to get enough subscribers to sign contracts so that Hydro would extend their services to the Village. The worn condition of the memorandum, which Frank has kept all these years, shows more clearly than words the time and effort involved. In recognition of his work Hydro put fifty foot poles past his lot so that the wires would not interfere with his maple trees. Incidentally, the trees now tower above the Hydro lines. The Village owes a great deal to the Service Clubs who have an intimate knowledge of the hopes and needs of the people. The Odd Fellows and Rotarians have worked hard to provide for many cases. Prank did his share. He was a member of the Odd Fellows for sixty-two years. When the Rotary Club was formed he was a Charter member. After serving for thirty years he was made an Honourary member. Now in his eighty-fourth year we wish to congratulate Frank on his long ana active career. We wish to thank him for all his contributions to this Village* Picture #1 (top): FRANK'S RESIDENCE 9 CHRISTENA CRESCENT AND Picture #2 (bottom): FRANK PROUSES LAST BUILDING PROJECT IN 1950 (CHESTER BUTT'S BARBER SHOP,) 8 KINGSTON ROAD WEST
