CURRENT EVENTS This section should be confined to a history of current events as they transpire in your district. You will want to include an account of the part your community played in the wars of our country. This can be recorded under two sub-sections- lst. The Community on the Home front in World Wars Nos. 1 & 2. 2nd. Men and women of the community in the armed forces. 1. Home Front. The role of women on the Home Front. Women's Institute War Work - Red Cross, Salvage, Rationing, etc. Munition plants and war industries of the district. 2. Armed Forces Record of men and women in the Armed Forces. Meritorious Awards - decorations, etc. Honour Roll of Casualties. Military Population - proximity of camps, air bases, naval stations, etc. Pictures of all above should be included where possible. 3. Peace Celebrations Tell how your Community marked these eventful dates. Tell also how you welcomed your returning Armed Forces' personnel- Parties - presentations, etc.
