Horticultural society is holding its summer show in another building The society would aye pre ferred if conditions had been suitable to contain the summer show and trade fair within the one building But the Memorial Arena not a suitable place in which to exhibit blooms It is too for the delicate glad ioli Last year many a grower was disappointed to see his prize spikes faded and in poor condi tion before the public could view the show The judge spoke about the of the place for a flower show and recommended that the flowers arid vegetables be exhibited in another build ing in future Added to these difficulties were the inconveniences for the growers in settingup their show in the past two years in the arena As the trade fair is open to the public nightly it meant I that the Horticultural society members had to wait until the fair closed at to pm be fore they could begin to setup their show On both occasions it was after am before the weary task was accomplished were injured in carry ing the vases of flowers to the center of the arena The show had to be divided because of lack of space with the result that many visitors never saw some of the exhibits It was far from satisfactory from the growers viewpoint When plans were be gun this spring for the fourth annual summer show and trade fair the growers recommended that another spot bo found to ex hibit their of the society under the convenership of Mis Elgin Evans During the trade fair the society will have a large booth in the arena It will bo decor ated with flowers donated by members for the entire period of the fair August 13 to Mem bers of the society will man the booth many dis plays will be included in its daily exhibits Garden consultants will be on hand to help visitors with their
