l“&lï¬Â¢Â§Â£â€˜l“ ‘ ' Norfolk District Stuffed animals and afghans were once again handmade by Members of Norfolk District WI (Hamilton Area), and donated to 8 local organizations and nursing homes at the District Annual meeting held in Vittoria on May 11th. Happily accepting some of these items is Susan Helka of Dover Cliffs Nursing Home, Port Dover (centre), from Marjorie Porter of Marburg WI (left) and Jean Godfrey of Lakeshore WI (right). Singer’s Corners WI The Members of Singer’s Corners WI (Hamilton Area) were hard at work preparing items for Canada Comforts. The Branch has already sent 4 cartons and a new one is ready to go, packed with girls’ dresses, afghans, blankets, baby sweaters, bonnets, toques for preemie and AIDS babies, and stacks of washcloths. In addition to the articles they made, the Branch also purchased cozy sweaters, baby sleepers, and pyjamas to send. Pictured is WI Member, Beth Wilson with the beautiful items to be donated. Majestic WI The Members of Majestic WI (Guelph Area) prepared boxes to be donated to shutâ€"ins in the community. In addition to these boxes, trays of cookies and squares were made for Maple Villa and Highland apartment dwellers and for residents of Huronlea Home for the Aged. Hawkestone WI Hawkestone WI (Simcoe Area) recently donated $500 to the Oroâ€"Medonte Fireï¬ghters Association. The money will help purchase an infraâ€"red camera fortheir rescue boat.
