To everyone who participated, my grateful thanks. Congratulations to Ruth Fountain, Harvie Settlement WI (Simcoe Area), who walked 5,404,178 steps. As Ruth was unable to attend Convention, as were several other Members, it was Diana Knight, Fonthillâ€"Singers Corners WI (Hamilton Area), with 3,099,520 steps whose name was sent to FWIC. PEI Member, Susan Doiron, with 8,064,480 walked the most number of steps in Canada. Unfortunately, she was not able to attend the Convention, so British Columbia Member, Judy Watson, with 3,933,450 steps received the paid registration to the Convention. Several Members entered the FWIC Tweedsmuir Competitions and congratulations go to June Sparling, Springmount Bluewater WI (Greyâ€"Bruce Area) whose crib quilt was chosen, and to E. Ruth Algire, Williamstown WI (Eastern Area) for her Essay on the 'History of WI in Your Province’. Both have been sent for National judging. The Senator Cairine Wilson Competition drew ï¬ve entries and congratulations go to Wilma McCagg, Consecon WI (Trent Valley Area). Conference reminders: - The ï¬nal registration date is April 30, 2012 â€" registration form available at www.fwic.ca. The Unity Project is collecting new pajamas, socks, slippers, underwear, writing journals, new regular size toiletries and cosmetics for the Victoria Women’s Transition House.
