Russell Village WI Russell Village WI (Eastern Area) wants to show everyone that you can have a fun evening meeting, learning a new skill and spreading good will and love â€" as well as a side benefit for Valentine’s Day! Ina Henry,ConvenorshipLeaderforthis ROSE Session, showed everyone "How to Make Chocolates”! She taught everyonethetechnique and showed tricks for making moulded chocolates, rolled truffles and Turtle chocolates. It is always fun when there is chocolate involved, but productivity was diminished by the “craving” of perfection and the need to taste if they were any good! Fortunately, the chocolates were delicious and everyone was sent home with "loving" packages to share with neighbours and friends as random gifts of LOVE for Valentine’s Day. The Branch now knows how rewarding it can be, in so many different ways, to make chocolates at home! Wellington North District There’s a scarf craze going on in Wellington North District! With the introduction of the "ruffled scarf," many people have wanted to learn how to knit one. The District (from Guelph Area) organized this ROSE Session in a month, with one Member instructing the group of 19. It was a fun evening, with one person completing her scarf and several others near completion. There have been several scarves made since this ROSE Session â€" it sure is a quick, fun project! Speakers included Margaret Howard, a local cookbook author who spoke on "Preserves and More". Cookbooks were made available for sale. Joy Johnson, a retired secondary school teacher and owner/operator of JJ‘s Supplies and Services, demonstrated different ways to prepare and cook pumpkin. Joy‘s pumpkin soup was served as part of the lunch menu and the recipe was available to guests. Jackie Ralph, soloist, presented musical selections throughout the program.
