Bainsville WI Bainsville WI (Glengarry District, Eastern Area) held a ROSE Session in November, with involvement from the Canadian Mental Health Association. Guest speakers represented the 3 sides ofthe “triangle” that cares for the mental health issues of patients. The first speaker was a professional who discussed various programs that are available. Some of the areas she touched upon were counseling, funding, job placements and training. Many questions were asked by the audience of 33, which included 28 WI Members and 5 guests. A person diagnosed with mental illness spoke of her experiences and progress. The third point on the triangle was that of a family member who cared for her loved one on a 24/7 basis. She spoke ofprograms available for caregivers and where to find contacts. There were 100 volunteer hours devoted to this ROSE Session, with advertising being done through posters, newspaper, and word of mouth. Well done, Bainsville WI! THE BEST MEDâ€" ICINE”. This ROSE Session featured Jennifer McGuire, popular humour columnist for the Owen Sound Sun Times and Sun Media. Jennifer shared heartfelt, lighthearted and hilarious excerpts from herston/ collection, Halfway to Happy. Named after Jennifer’s weekly column, it is a collection of her best columns â€" many selected by her readers. The walls at Knox Presbyterian Church in Walkerton, Ontario were bursting with roars of laughter at one moment and tears of joy the next. In the words of Sun Times editor, Michael Den Tante, "Halfway to Happy is funny, sad, insightful, quirky, proâ€" vocative and always a great read.” Even/one was delighted to reâ€" ceive a good dose of this medicine as Jenniâ€" fer shared her wonder- ful sense of humour. ‘.
