As | write this, I am looking forward to the change of seasons. How wonderful it is to see the days lengthen, the temperature rise and all the snow melt! Throughout our lives we experience many changes. Each stage ofour life brings about new desires and requirements. Our communities are changing and new technology is changing our lives. Often, when we are asked to travel in new directions, we are hesitant to leave our comfort zone behind. But, change can offer fresh approaches and the chance for new enriched experiences. I think back to my apprehension when I learned that I would need to face change and attend that first ELCC meeting in Stoney Creek in January. But, thanks to a thoughtful WI Member l was able to drive up on a Sunday afternoon and stay overnight, then follow along to the Lee. After the meeting I followed others out to the QEW and heeded suggestions to take the 403. Now that I am familiar with the route and exit ramps, | feel very little angst about that drive! The real bonus is that I had the opportunity to meet and work with so many wonderful people at the Lee. Their positive determination and work ethics were major factors in the reopening ofthe Lee. The FWIO Board made the decision to move the Provincial Office to the Erland Lee (Museum) Home by the end of August. This will cause many changes. Staff will be under extra stress making preparations for the move while trying to carry on their normal workload. I hope that everyone will do their part in helping to make the change as smooth FWIO Provincial Scholarship Winner â€" 2013 as possible and will understand if there are any minor glitches or delays. Renovation plans have been approved by the Cultural Heritage Planning Committee of the City of Hamilton. Most changes will be in the former curator’s office, gift shop and upstairs workroom with only a few upgrades to the exterior ofthe house to improve doors and windows. The Headquarters Fund will be used to pay for the renovations. Budget: 560,000-5100,000. We are also considering changes in the structure of our different levels and attempting to find the best solution. It has been difficult for some Areas, Districts and Branches to fill all the leadership positions. Even at the Provincial level, we are missing a Board Director for the North. What changes can we make that will best serve to improve our whole organization? If anyone has a workable solution, please send your ideas on to our restructuring committee. This is a great chance to give your input. Sometimes change can be a little too precipitous! While Branches can be contacted through email, many were not able to download the online forms. In future, all forms will be mailed unless a request is ' ' made for online only. n CALmfiAR. If we face change with a positive attitude and stay resilient, we can continue to be a strong organization working together towards the personal growth for all women.
