83 members who had completed twelve 4-H Homemaking Units. F. W. I. C, Report Mrs. MacPhatter gave a comprehensive reâ€" port of the recent F.W.I.C. sub executlve meetâ€" ing. She reported a women's organization in Belgium had been so impressed with the Canadian Women's Institute that they had asked the FiW.I,C. for their constitution. The Citizen's Forum asked the F.W.IC. to consider the following subjects for future discussions: Women in Banking; Standardized Curriculum across Canada: How Far Can Conservation Go? and Should Canada Have Two Sets of Policy? Mrs D. S_ McNaughton was recom- mended by Mrs. MacPhatter to work with the F.W.IC. on the Radio Evaluation Council, due to her splendid work on the Provincial Board. Conservation Council of Ontario Mrs. Stewart McDonald presented the report of the Conservation Council, which was an extensive one in the work of conservation of water, pollution of streams, conservation of fish and wild life. Mrs. McDonald reported Mrs MacPhatler had been invited to sit in on a discussion of a F.W.IC, conservation project and the suggestion was the elimination of litâ€" ter on the highways and hyways The F.W.I.C. have recognich this problem in the past. Reso- lutions have been sent to the government with little or no results. A ninevpoint program has been suggested for correction of litter on the highways and byways. Resolutions Mrs, R. G. Purcell gave the report of action on the resolutions passed at the annual meet- ing and read many letters received from the departments of the government. In connection with a resolution regarding sewing thread, Mrs. Purcell received an interesting summary on sewing thread from a manufacturer why]. explained the right uses for thread.
