Ontario’s Hospital Care Plan (Self Employed Persons Should Enrol Before Sept. 30) Services Ofiered NTARIO'S Hospital Care Plan becomes 0 effective January 1, 1959, and includes the following in-patient hospital serv- ices: (a) Accommodation and meals at the stand- ard or public ward level; (1)) Necessary nursing service, but excluding private duty nursing; _ (c) Laboratory. radiological and other diag- nostic procedures, including necessary inâ€" terpretations; (d) Drugs, biologicals and related prepara- tions as approved under provincial sched- ule; to) Use of operating room, case room and anaesthetic facilities, including necessary equipment and supplies; (f) Routine surgical supplies; (g) Use of radiotherapy facilities for treat- ment of cancer where available: (h) Use of physiotherapy facilities where available; and (i) Other services rendered by persons who receive remuneration therefor from the hospital; (i) Care and treatment in mental and tuberâ€" culosis hospitals; and (k) Out-patient services for emergency ad- missions providing the individuals con- cerned are received as “out patients” within 24 hours of an accident. Eligibility for Benefits The Ontario Hospital Insurance program will be available to everyone resident in On- tario regardless of age. occupation or condi- tion of health. Except for social assistance cases the only condition of eligibility for benefits will be the payment of the premium required. Where inability to pay the premium has been established, that is, in social assistâ€" ance cases, the Province will pay the premium. Patients in any public, general, chronic, conâ€" valescent, mental or tuberculosis hospital may enrol for benefits by paying a premium or having one paid in their behalf. Enrolment in the program will be compulâ€" sory for all employees of firms with 15 or more employees.
