Weighing a baby at the Rosemont clinic. Baby Clinic in a Home Mrs. Reg. Brett of North Dufferin sends this :eport of Rosemont’s Well-Baby Clinic: "The Rosemont Women‘s lnstitufe Well-Baby A linic was organized in March, I947. There was a .ull in its activities for a time because there was no doctor available; but it wasn‘t very long before popular demand had it going again. At present the i'linic is held in the home of an Institute member 0 whom the Institute pays a fee. The branch pays til] expenses incurred as well as providing any .-quipment the clinic needs in order to function ‘vdh‘quatcly. Both a doctor and a nurse are always 11] attendance as well as Mrs. Solomon in whose home the clinic is held; and sometimes ‘here is an assistant to help with the children. The clinic aCrVes Rosemont and nearby communities and has grown steadily. The average attendance is titteen with a record number of thirtyâ€"four at one clinic." Hof- fmn, Public Relations Ofï¬cer for Annan Institute In North Grey: WINTER I 959 “A young farm family in our community lost their barn through ï¬re. This necessitated rebuild- ing before the harvest could he brought in and it meant a great expense as well is the added work of preparing meals for the builders. The young mother had three small children, the twins less than a month old. “So our lnsti'ute. Annzm. formed a committee and the results Were that two womenwdiï¬'erent women each dayâ€"went to the farm each morn ing and stayed the day to prepare dinner and supper for the extra men and to a'tend to the washing up and other chores. Food such as veg- etables, canned fruit, pickles and relishes and baked goods were donated by the Institute mem- bers. Our help was greatly appreciated by the farmer and his wife. “We feel that this was u worthwhile project and we enjoyed doing our bit. Also we feel that it was good publicity for our Institute. We helped for four days. and after that Woodford and Bala- clava Institutes also helped. A Rally and a Workshop Mrs. Brock Suddaby, in the following report, tells how Algotna North Shore District Institutes arranged a district Rally that combined a happy social get-together with what really umoun‘ed to a workshop on Institute procedure and Institute Work in general. Mrs. Suddztby says: “District Annuals are such rushed affairs with two days‘ work crammed into one day. Hostess branch members are so busy feeding the inner woman that they never get the uplift of the gath- ering.
