CENTENNIAL PROJECTS Restoration of the Adelaide HoodleSS Home- stead is to be completed as part of F.W.I.C.‘s contribution to Canada's Centenary, and plans to insure its future maintenance costs will need consideration. The “Canadian Mosaic" is progressing and a grant will be requested from the Centennial Commission to assist in research and compiling and to cover costs of printing, publishing and sales promotion. This is to be a collection of ten books, one from each Province, which will portray the history, crafts and cultures of each Provincial Unit. A gift to the Fathers of Confederation Mem- orial Building in Charlottetown will consist of eleven chairs with needlepoint panels on the back, bearing either the coats of arms of the Provinces and of Canada, or the floral emblems There will be one chair from each Province and one from F.W.I.C. The “Make Canada Lovelier" project is under way in all Provinces with a variety of plans which include Scholarships, Safe Living projects, Beautification, Clean-up campaigns and Physical Fitness classes. Nova Scotia plans to concentrate on the preservation of its wild flowers, a project heartily approved by those attending the Convention who saw them in all their beauty growing along the roadsides and as table decorations at the opening Banquet. Recommendations accepted included the con- tinuing of the F.W.I.C. policy of co-operating with existing agencies to work out a plan with the Overseas Institute Book Centre to send books where badly needed; and also that Resoâ€" lutions sent to National level must be accom- panied by supporting data or not be considered. A Resolution was also accepted asking that a committee be appointed to look into the pissâ€"7 sibility of holding A.C.W.W, Regional Confer- ences. and requesting that the Committee ask their A.C.W.W. Constituent Societies in Can- ada to participate in this, HOSPITALITY AND ENTERTAINMENT The Mayor of Wolfville painted such a vivid picture of the beauties of his Province that the hours between sessions were filled with sideâ€" trips to View the Gaspereau, the Cornwallis and the Annapolis Valley, Grand Pré and many places of scenic and historical interest. An entire day was devoted to giving the members a special taste of Maritime hospitality.
