Nash HE WOMEN‘S INSTITUTES of Great I Britain are celebrating the fifti6th anniâ€" versary of their founding in 1965. The first Women’s Institute in Britain was organized in Llanfair, Wales, by Mrs. Watt in 1915. When we held our fiftieth anniversary celeâ€" bration in Stoney Creek in 1947, we received about 3,000 messages of congratulations, good wishes and greetings from many sources. Most of these came from Britain. thanks no doubt to the promptings of Miss Christmas who had just visited Canada: and we answered every one. Now I think it would he a nice gesture if early in the new year the Women‘s Institutes in our area at least would send a l'iftieth anni- versary card to the first Women‘s Institute organized in Great Britain.
