Miss Shantz fiund that having more free time in the eve- nngs was a help in the work in the classroom. To work with small children. she said. it helps o be slow-moving and quietâ€"speaking. County Home Econ- omist for Perth county. outlined the work of a County Home Economistâ€"supervising 4-H Homemaking club work, assisting Junior Institutes and the girls†section of the Junior Farmers' Association. speaking at Women's Inâ€" stitute meetings especially explaining exten- sion services, giving information on home eco- nomics questions to women of the county, frequently writing for local papers to promote home economics interests. The County Home Economist is liaison between the local women and the Home Economics Branch of the De- partment of Agriculture and Food. Miss Col- lins said. and she has a part in organizing many of the services from the Department to the women and girls of the county, "You have to he enthusiastic about working for better homes and better living." Miss Collins toid the girls and you have to be able to cooperate \vtth people." At the Banquet At the conference hanquet Mrs. Everett Small. President of the Federated Women‘s institutes of Ontario. brought greetings from her organization and left a significant message on the thought that every privilege carries with it a responsibility. On the conference theme "Making the Most of You“. Mrs. Small‘s advice was. “Be yourself and aim high": and she quoted a tribute from a nontan's gravestone in a very old cemetery: "Ever she sought the best and et er she found it. The Hon. W. A.
