Dr. Ethel Chapman commended the Women's Institutes for being so vigorous. so clear-minded. and for having a mature outâ€" look on this seventieth birthday. Dr. Chap- man paid tributc to the organization for what it has done for the individual woman, for the home and family. for the community and for the way this women's organization has reached out beyond our Canadian borders to help in less developed areas of the world. He warned the organization not to bask in the glory of the marvellous history of the past but to be constantly planning for great achieve- ments in the future.
