Community Builder’s Women’s Institute is restoring the historic old Pelham Union School. This 115 year old school, partially destroyed in 1965 has been renovated. The Branch held an auction sale in the school to help with ex- penses. Tavistockâ€"A housecleaning "trading post" was held by the Tavistock Women's Institute and the prooeeds are to be used for Christmas treats for the shutâ€"ins of the community. New Liskeard Women‘s Institute Branch reports many worthwhile activities over the years. Some of these are: They have adopted a little Korean girl from whom they have a letter every few months. They send her money for her birthday and the W.I. members dress a doll for her at Christmas. They visit the home for aged and take treats. They visit the patients in the chronic ward of HaileybUry Hospital. taking books and treats.
