Suggestions were made that branches study family life programs, all kindS'of pollution, drugs and their harmful efâ€" fects and many other subjects pertinent to the new decade. and that they use money they are tempted to give to other organizations to send members to District Annuals, Officers’ Confer- ences, etc. that they may acquire a better working knowledge of the Women‘s lnstitute’s aims. The panel’s recommendation that the Proâ€" vincial Converters assume the responsibility of forwarding their reports for 1968-69 year and the suggested outlines for the 1969â€"70 year to the respective Area Conveners was accepted. INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP Recommendations from a meeting of this International Scholarship Committee were ac- cepted by the Provincial Board. It was report- ed that during the last year the interest from this fund was sent to Turkey, one of the newer societies in A.C.W.W., for support of appliâ€" cants studying midwifery. Through consulta- tion with A.C.W.W. Ontario offered support to one of the two applicants. One girl who ap- plied had several awards and did not need the support and the other did not pass her exams. It was proposed by the committee that F.W.I.O. communicate with their contact in Turkey to ascertain the proposed assistance can be carried out this year. Another recommendation was that the earn- ings from the International Scholarship Fund for 1969-1970 be added to the principal to build it up to the original objective. It was also recommended that Mrs. Zoelier and Miss McKercher investigate the possibili- ties for use of the earnings from the fund in the next term. Ed.
