It was announced that there had been a considerable number of applications for Life Members (30) and Contributing Members (1,455) in A.C.W.W., but since there have been many lapses in renewal of contributing mem- berships the numbers are not as high as in pre- vrous years. Applications for Letter Friends, Introduc- tions and Exchange Programs have shown an increase. FALL 1971 The Lad} Aberdeen Scholarship Committee had given awards lrom this fund to members from the Gilbert and Ellice Islands. Greece. Ireland. Sarawak. Jamaica, Cameroon, Italy, Trinidad. Guyana. Malaysia. British Hondu- ras. and Botswana: exchange tours and joint scholarships have also been arranged. In reporting the extension tours taken as president of A.C.W.W. Mrs. Dutt said that she had visited five continents. giving her the op, portunity of meeting A.C.W.W. members in different environments. working toward the same goal through services and mutual help. Mentioning Spain. not yet a member, Mrs Dutt said: Spain: "In Barcelona 1 was met by the mem- bers of APME and Asociacion de Amigos de la India en Espana. I was elected an HonOrary Patron. This Association promotes friendship between India and Spain. I spoke at a Press Conference and at a meeting of the Executive Committee members. I visited some of the ra- ral schools for girls where there is a possibility of developing Women's Institute type work." 7
