Various members have corresponded since 1950, so ll was heart-warming and exciting to meet so many mem- bers. Mrs, Ditllison says. “I have always felt the WI was a warm and friendly group but never more so than on that day." The Dallisons were overnight guests of the Thorleys and the following days drove in the countryâ€" side and to the seashore. “Everyone was so friendly and kind. now future letters will have a much deeper meaning. since I have met the members of our link branch." NORTH EMILY WOMEN'S lNSTlTUTE mem- bers honour long time member Mrs. Wilfred McMullcn and her husband. Gifts. flowers and a birthday cake added to the celebration. Mrs, McMullen first joined the Kawartha Valley W.l. in 1932. and in 1958 when North Emily branch was formed. Mrs. McMullen joined and has been a faithful member ever since. JACKSON W.l. held it specittl International Women‘s Year evening. Neighbouring branches \x‘erc invited and participated in the programme. The roll call was “Name ti Famous Woman" and the guest speaker was the Provincial President who spoke on her WI work, The major project for the Institute year was compiling and selling Cook Books.
