To- ronto. April 5-9. PRESIDENT’S REPORT Life for a president is busy. challenging and inter- esting. were Mrs. Maluske’s comments. She has attended many meetings so far this year. The usual committee meetings. Finance, Ofi‘icers Con- ference. Erland Lee Home. Consumer Committee. Ontario Food Council, and Brochure. were scheduled. In her presidential capacity she was invited to the reception ofthe Lieutenant Governor. the Honourable Pauline McGibbon after the opening of parliament. Mrst Maluske had the opportunity to attend a Ca- nadian Standards Association meeting to set up a Consumer Advisory Panel. Films were shown on test- ing techniques for approval and a tour of the testing laboratories. The Metropolitan Toronto Branch of the United Nations Association invited representatives to hear Miss Barbara Chisholm speak about. The rights of the child â€" do they exist? She pointed out. legally a child is still considered a chattel of its parents and urged all to think seriously about the right ofthis non-adult segâ€" ment of our society. Maluske expressed thanks to Miss McKercher, the FWIO executive and board directors for their assistance and cooperation. SECRETARY TREASURER’S REPORT Mrs. Morden reported that lists have been sent to the nine District Secretary Treasurers listing the eli- gible Federation Representatives and alternates en~ titled to stand for nomination as Board Directors to the FWIO Provincial Board. The elections to take place at the Area Conventions this Fall. Also letters have been sent to all eligible persons. All secretarial duties have been performed. all committee meetings attended. Pennies for Friendship are up approrimately $2000.00. making a total of $14,125.61 collectEd from MarCh I975 to March 1976. Branch donations to the Hoodless Homestead amount to $|445.00 forwarded to the National office. PUBLIC RELATIONS REPORT Mrs. J. Harvey Houston presented her fifth semi annual report. 165 printer’s proofs have been mailed to the news media throughout Ontario since the last meeting along with 225 pieces of mail from my Luck- now desk.
