BLUE LAKE AND AUBURN Two special celebrations were enjoyed by Branch members during their 60th anniversary year. Tea at Headless Homestead Friends from Australia. Quebec. Brant, Norfolk and Wentworth County joined with Blue Lake and Auburn members to celebrate their 60th Anniversary at the Homestead. A tour of the house was conducted by Mrs. T. O. Loveless, hostess and the local FWlC Hoodless Com- mittee Mrs. Harry Nixon. Mrs. Ewart Hunt and Mrs. John Charlton. The Homestead History Book was dis- played and the Adelaide Hoodless Roses admired by all. After the tea. Mrs. Andrew Armstrong. honourary pianist of the Branch. who was unable to attend re- ceived the Hoodless roses. Mrs. Armstrong had un- veiled the ArChaelogicul and Historic Sites Board of Ontario plaque in 1959. when representatives l‘mm Branch to ACWW level were present. Tea was enjoyed under the century old trees sur- rounding the home Of the birthplace of Mrs. Hoodless. Mrs. Philip Grandine Convener and her committee served lunch including anniversary cake. Anniversary Meeting Members travelled to Milton to the Ontario Agrt‘ cultural Museum for the 60m Anniversary meeting, of the Blue Lake and Auburn Branch. The 3| members stopped for lunch at Mohawk Inn and then under the Convenership of Mrs. Ferry Ger man. Agriculture and Canadian industries Convener heard Mr. R. W. Carbcrt, General Manager of the Museum tell about the development and future plans of the 5113. Included was Ll tour. conducted by the museum stall. of the grounds and buildings. The members visâ€" ited the site of the Women's Institute Hall under conâ€" struction. The Branch then held its regular montth business meeting.
