It was :1 lucky day for the Women‘s Institute when Miss MCKercher lured Helen away from a law office to work for the Home Economics Branch on behalf of the Women's Institute. Thousands of members have talked to Helen on the phone and read the Familiar signature on letters. Many have met her personally but many more feel they knew her be- cause at the letters and telephone calls December 31. 1979 Mrs. Sid Armstrong retires and asâ€" sumes the role ot‘housewife.
