AREA DAY For Northern and Kingston Areas â€" April 15, 1982 A special day in honor of these two Areas has been set for mid-April. Donations of craft items will be accepted; they then will be sold during Ontario WI Week. Members are asked to price their own craft donations. QUILTERS Six members wearing Centennial dress. three of whom will be asked each day during WI Week to quilt on a quilt already made by the Committee. The remainder will do other types of quilting; one will work on an applique block. another demonstrating templates. and a third person work- ing on lap or puff quilting (those working on individual blocks will be responsible for providing their own blocks). Also each team of quilters are asked to set up a small display of work that has been done recently, Board Directors will be responsible for obtaining quiltets and bringing the names to the semi-annual meeting. to be given to Mrs. Miller. [N MEMORIAM Money sent in memory of a deceased person will go into the Foundation Fund. The deceased’s name will he entered in a book. and will be available for visitors to see. A notation will also be made, recording the name of the do» nor. Letters are written to family members informing them of the donation. ALL DONATIONS TO BE MAILED DIRECTLY TO THE FWIO OFFICE, made out to the Erland Lee (Museum) Home. Please do not mail to either the Home or Treasurer; this causes delay and extra cost. YEAR OF THE DISABLED Removable ramps at the west entrance to the main floor of the Home were installed. resulting from a request by a bus-load of disabled persons visiting the Home. There have been other visitors from time to time during the year who have needed this facility. When the Drive House was rcno» vated, provisions were made for this service. ONTARIO WOMEN’S INSTITUTE WEEK May 31-June 4, 1982 All are welcome, Each Branch is encouraged to plan a visit during the week. If travelling by bus. contact Mrs. Beachin for a time schedule. Come and see the various demonstrations and new displays. QUILT BLOCK FOR THE LEE Would you like to contribute to the Quilt Block Project? This is not a "must". but if a member has some material that could be made into one block, the Committee WOLIIG appreciate your help. If each WI Branch or Junior Branch wishes to contribute ONE block, it should be made from good quality material, 11" x 11". pieced. appliqued or hand embroidered (no liquid embroidery). Blocks to be mailec‘ DIRECTLY to the Erland Lee (Museum) Home. by April 1. 1982. The blocks will be made into quilts and sold at thr Lee. This is a pioneer craft. appropriate to the era of the Home and will involve WI members, while providing addi- tional funds for the Lee.
