l 1 1 1 Eastern Ontario Convention opens with original poem The theme for the 67th anâ€" nual area convention of Eastern Ontario Women’s In- stitutes was Reach Out In Love. The new president, Mrs. B. V. Bedore, opened a session with this poem, com~ posed in October 1982, on this theme. Here is the poem, for those WI members who missed it at the convention and all other F WIO women. Reach Out In Love Reach out in love And understanding, friend Be keeper to your brother. Reach out to one another See beyond material end. Reach out in love And rise above The petty, narrow things That selfish greed will send. Let us know our northern brother And those on southern shores Reach out to one another As we know each more and more. Let colour, creed and race The image of our face Bind us, not divide us Expand our souls inside us Reach out in love To one another. A great deal of talent is lost in this world for the lack of little courage. _ AWARD \VINNERS IEtghteen young women were presenter] with the Federated Women 's In- stitutes of Ontario MacDonald A ward in January.
