Regulations: |. The competition is open only to members of the Women’s In- stitute. . The cushion shall be of a pracâ€" tical type. 3. The size should be 16 inches (40 cm) square, or round â€" 14 inches (35 cm) in diameter. 4. Construction of cushion top may be by machine (as in a pieced patâ€" tern) or by hand if that better suits the technique or pattern used. . The quilting on the cushion top MUST be done by hand. 6. The top may be attached to the back by machine. 7. The design can be original, or in a traditional or established pattern. 8. Material used should be cotton or polyester or a blend of these. 9.
