West End WI Last fall. six members repres senting Women‘s Institute branches from the Huntingdonâ€"Chateauguay area of Quebec and district WI branches gathered at Barrie Hill United Church to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the West End WI. Church members served tea to the 99 in attendance. The following day. West End members treated their Quebec visitors to a bus trip to the Erland Lee and Adelaide Hoodr less Homestead Museums. Many of the Branches and inâ€" dividual members contributed a great deal of time and money in support of the Southwold Tornado Relief Fund; meals were prepared and a sum of $30,500 was donated to help the victims. Other eventt included hosting a workshop on "Landscaping Your Home" and at. sisting in Christmas programs at the local pioneer museum. Gowanstown WI Gowanstown Branch members are proud of their Program Director. Vietta Karges. who was a recipient of the Norman Stirling Award for Wallace Township's Citizen oithe Year. She shared this honor with her husband Mervyn, Both are lifelong residents of the township. Peel County WI The Feel County Women‘s ln- stitute Scholarship was awarded lo Cheryl Ferguson from the Mayiield area. Kevin Martin from the Alton area was granted the Bursary.
