Lonsdule WI Member Becomes Warden msdale WI member argaret Walsh. Reeve of Tyendinaga Township. was sworn in as Warden of Hastings County in December 2002. This makes Margaret the first female Warden in the County’s 133ayear history. Margaret has lived in Tyendinaga Township since l952. where she and her late husband Bill farmed and raised three children. She retired from elementary school teaching in I985. Margaret was first elected to Tyendinaga Council In [994 and became Reeve of the Township in 1997. a posmon she still holds. As an active and caring individual. Margaret has been diligent in all aspects of her commitment to WI. the community, the education system and municipal council. Congratulations Margaret and much success in your new position as Warden. Recently. the Ontario Home Economics Association (OHEA) felt they could no longer administer the FWIO International Scholarship because of the time commitment involved. In response. the FWIO Board asked ACWW if they could utilize the 32.500 in interest from the International Scholarship Fund within their own Lady Aberdeen Scholarship Fund. ACWW World President Hilda Stewart replied that they would be happy to receive and administer the : International Scholarship. beginning in 2003. Wednesday’s Workshops As in previous years. a series of workshops was organized fer the Provincial Advisory Council- lors. the Coordinators. the Committees ot the Board and the Provincial Board of Directors. The roles and responsibilities of each position were reviewed and concerns were clarified. Once again. Board had the opportunity to meet w talk with their Provincial Advisory Councill and likewise.
