The Little Ireland Blanch organized a community picnic and erected a plaque to commemorate School Section #71. Eighty people attended the unveiling at the Minto Township school house, which opened in 1926 and closed in 1965. Upon its formation in 1926, a local Branch of the WI chose the name ofLittle Ireland; the school and the local area also became known by that name. Twenty-six former pupils and one teacher attended the picnic. The school is now the home of the Ciyne family. Village residents, past and present, were invited to sign the maple leaves for a small donation. Branch members then embroidered the names and liniShEd the quilt.
