Headquarters Fund Donati Oct.1, 1997 - Jan. 31,1998 Will we have 0 all the pieces? The Archives Association of Ontario (AAO) is sponsoring Archives Awareâ€" ness Day beginning on Monday April 6. 1998, Ontario possesses a rich documen- tary heritage of which we should all be proud. This heritage, however, needs to be protected. The AAO acts as the voice of archives in the province. Our members throughout Ontario are committed to the acquisition, preservation and availability of archival records. All Ontarions beneï¬t from the existence of archives. Beyond important uses for historical and geneological research, archives exist to document and protect individual and collective rights for all Ontarians. They exist to provide evidence of past transactions and to protect the integrity of records forcurrent and future generations, Archives and archivists need your sup- port. One of the goals of the AAO is to build and enhance a truly provincial net- work of archives To do so we need to raise awareness about archival concerns and to build partnerships in communities throughout Ontario, communities like yours. The landscape of our province is changing rapidly as we witness the amalâ€" gamation of hospitals. school boards and municipalities. What options exist for these records in your community? On April 6, help us celebrate the impor- tant role that archives and archivists play in our collective well being. By advocatâ€" ing archives. you can help us previde an answer to the question that is the theme of our campaign: Will we have all the pieces,7 For a package of promotional materials and general activities regarding Archives Awareness Day, call the AAO office at (905)7924173.
