THE CHURCH OF ST. GEORGE THE MARTYR (ANGLICAN) PARISH OF APSLEY 110 YEARS IN HIS SERVICE, 1875-1985 Lay-Minister's Message What a privilege is mine to be Lay-Minister of this parish as St. George's Church celebrates its 110th anniversary! It is particularly exciting to me as ‘ Leak back 110 years and see that a Lay Reader from the sane are; as I live was appointed in charge of the Mission if A;slev. I find it valuable, to have the Ven. Fred Ongley as griestâ€" in-charge. What a fine man-of-God to serve under! I find it interesting to look back over the histcry our church and have many fond memories. My parents have left me with many stories of people whose names are re::::ei in the history of St. George's. The history of the church always shows the moving :f :1: on His people and that is so here. It is only because cf ::; that we exist at all and it must be for Him and His glory that we do the work He has given us. Much is accomplished through our absolute faith and trust in Him. As you read, this history, you will be aware of God‘s goodness to his people in Apsley and of His abundant love in good times and in had. We now move into another decade of spiritual growth in getting to know Christ and to make Him known. My prayer for all the parishioners is that people can look at us and exclaim, "Oh, how they love Jesusl".
