A beautiful electric organ was installed in memory of Ethel Everett by her husband Bill and after his death, their family gave a memorial of pew Bibles and a silver ciborium. Bill was a former warden and Ethel an active church worker. The noxious smelling water for the church was remedied by a new well paid for totally by parishioner's donations. A new holding tank provided improved sewage disposal. Mrs. R0salie McColl was appointed as the first lady warden in the parish. Archdeacon F. G. Murray McColl grew up in Apsley and in his youth was the church organist. As a teacher, he left this area for several years, only to return to the Bancroft area. In 197k Murray was licensed as Lay Reader and served in that capacity until 1981. studying now for the ordained ministry through extra-curricular courses, he was designated by Bishop Desmond Hunt as Lay Minister.
