$225 - Port Elgin Junior Farmers Celebrate 75 Years Seventy five years of continuous service! That's a statement few Junior Farmer Clubs in Ontario can make. Many clubs had their first or anizational meeting before 1920. Many. if not al? of these clubs disbanded for a few years during the Depression or during World War II. As far as we can tell Port Elgin Junior Farmers is the oldest continuous club in the province. The first meeting took place on January 30, 1020. At the same time there was a Junior Institute club formed too. Mrs. Stanley Ferguson was elected as the first Junior Institute President. They disbanded a short time later and reâ€"organized in 1927 with Mrs. Clarkson Bricker as President.
