"6" History of Park Head continued. 2:.- Park Head Community and Memorial Hall, of red brick; constâ€" ruction, was built in 1952 on the athletic grounds and was officially opened in February 1953. The Women's Institute was of great assist- ance in the project by completely furnishing the Kitchen and raising money to help clear the indebtedness. The hall was built in fond and loving memory of those who gave their lives in the two great wars and in sincere recognition of those who served in these great struâ€" ggles. In the Amabel Centennial which was celebrated August 19th and 20th 1961, Park Head took a prominent part with T. E. Evans as Township chairman and Rexford Cruickshenk as head of the parade committee. Park Head Women's Institute entered a splendid fleet in the parade, depicting such things as sugar making, quilting, churning and had a splendid exhibit of old time household articles and costumes. This float was prepared under the leadership of Mrs. Violet ;uinlan and Mrs. John Rusk, and the history for the Centennial Booklet by Mrs. W. Cruickshank and Mrs. T. E. Evans.
