November 1938 At the Provincial Board meeting in Toronto, the proposed change was effected. This change involved the rezoning of Bruce County from Bruce North, West, Centre and South to Bruce North, East and South. Bruce East, the newly organized district included all of the Bruce West branches except Tiverton which went to Bruce South district. It also included Paisley, Pinkerton and Chesley branches from Bruce Centre district which was disbanded. From South Bruce district came the branches of Walkerton, Nalkerton Juniors and South Line Brant. Thus the new district of BRUCE EAST has come into being with ten senior and two Junior branches. It encompasses geographically the townships of Arran, Saugeen, Bruce, Elderslie Brant, Garrick and the East portion of G reenock; the towns and villages of Southampton, Port Elgin, Tara, Chesley, Paisley, Walkerton, Nildmay and the settlements of Allenford, Elsinore, Arkwright, Burgoyne, Underwood, Dobbinton and Pinkerton.
