RH OFFICERS OF WEST BRUCE DISTRICT Mrs. John Hewitson Allenford oranch, District President 1910â€"11 Mrs. Hewitson was an up and coming woman of her day. She worked hard to improve her statis in life and was looked upon as an accomplished leader in the community. She was an emaculate housekeeper. Each meal, her table was set as if expecting company. Her garden and lawns were very lovely and she spent much time with her flowers. She was determined to carry out any project started for the betterment of the Instiâ€" tute, and her home. Her husband was a blacksmith. with her sewing, poultry and garden, Mrs. Hewitson did much to enhance the family budget. She was a self educated person -â€" a great reader and set a fine example. Her maiden name was Aitcheson. She was a staunch Presbyterian. Mrs. Hewitson was first president of Allenford Women‘s Institute organized in 1903. At this time there were thirty Institutes in Ontario with Allenford the thirtieth.
