OFFICEHJ OF WEST BhHCi DIJPRICT Mrs. Adan Aiken, Allenford Branch, Allenford, Ontario. District President 1913-15 Mrs. Vary (Cook) Aiken was of English ancestry. She was married in 1876 to Adam Aiken. They had a family of six boys and one girl. Besides caring for her family and her home she was a pioneers wife and bound grain cradled by hand and later followed the first reaper in the community. She took a deep interest in the affairs of the community. She had always been active in the Methodist (now United] Church at Allenford. For twentyâ€"five years she was president of the Ladies Aid Society, was a charter member of the Women‘s Missionary Society and was instrumental in orfanizing the lfission Circle. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a Charter manner or the women's Institute and Loyal True Blue Lodge. Her hone was always open to any needy cause or individual.
