In 1951 Miss Lois Budge of Owen Sound gave a singer Sewing Machine Demonstration. There Was a Bingo, Ice Cream Social Ball game at Burgoyne School netting $¢3.06. The Mottos were many and varied, one, I thought especially good: "Young people have more need of 'models than critics'". There was a donation of $50.00 to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital. Each member donated a cup, plate and spoon) 50 of each being bought, also two granite pitchers. In 1956 a Ball Team was sponsored by the Institute and on June 26 there was an ice cream social and ball game at Burgoyne School to rai“e funds; proceeds amounting to $u2.61. Miss M. Brophy spoke on radio and television. She took pictures of the group which were shown on T.V. the following Tuesday. The Institute joined the C.A.C. and His as Repre- sentative Mrs. Salmon. The Branch Institutes having become so many it was decided fit the District Annual to divide the District in two parts; Burgoyne being with the Centre qruce District.
