4“ LORD TWEEDSMUIR, the son of the Rev. John Buchan, was born John Buchan in Scotland August 25, 1875. He was an historian and novelist. He was called to the Bar in 1901 and from 1927 to 1935 was a member of the British House of Commons for Scottish Universities. In 1935 he was titled "Baron Tweedemuir" and the same year beCame Governorâ€"General of Canada. He died in Montreal on February 11, l9h0. Lord Tweedamuir wrote many novels, bioâ€" gra hies and hietorical works, and his lat at was his autobiography “Memory Hold the Door". Hie library Was bequeathed to Queen's University in Kingeton, Ontario. LADY TNEEDSMUIR, Susan, has written many plays, children's books anï¬ reminiscences. She was an ardent Women's Institute member in Enwlnnd and was made an Honorary Life Member of F. u. I. 0. During her stay in Canada she advocated that the Institutes across the Nntion compile histories 0‘ their Villages end communities.
