DELAMARE BRANCH WEST MIDDLESEX. E, On June 8th, 1914 a meeting was held in the parish hall with the puroose of organizing a Women's Mnbtitute. Mrs. Monger, Mt. Prydgess Mrs. Irunt, Apgin; and Mrs. De Gen being present. Mrs. Monger was in the chair and the folloxdng officers were elected: Mrs. Huddle President Mrs. F. Eichenberger First vice president Mrs. J.H. Mathews Second vice president Miss Gertrude Prior Secretaryâ€"treasurer Mrs. J. Munroe; Mrs. H. Trumper; Miss Gertie Quirrce Directors Mrs. V. Jackson; Miss M. Gibson Auditors The meetings to be held the first Tuesday of each month at 3 P. M. at the memâ€" bers homes. Thirty members joined at this meeting. Four members were to provide lunch, also a roll call at each meeting. Meeting opened by singing the Maple Leaf Forever, and closed with God Save The King. In Sept. 1920, meetings were ppened by the Institute Ode, and in 1915 printed programmes were used with place of meeting arranged for the year. June of 1915 Mrs. Laura Rose Stephens was the lady speaker sent by the department. Many speakers have been heard through the years. In 1926 it was moved a collection be taken up at each meeting to buy flowers for the sick, also Institute pins were sent for, each member paying for one. COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES AND PUBLIC RELATIONS Donated a window to the Masonic Hall, purchased a piano for the use of the community at a small charge, shower of bibsand fruit today nursery, gave prize for school fair, gave donation to all in community who have suffered loss by fire, helped buy chairs for Township Hall, cleaned up cemeterys and paid to keep grass cut, don- ation to Strathroy hospital, chidrens ward Memorial Hospital, Byron Senatorium, sewing for the Childrens Aid Society, Russian relief, donation of cotton Ior the cancer clinic, gifts to all brides in Institute, also new babies, fruit or Ilowers to sick, cards to all shutâ€"ins at Christmas ,formed a friendship link with a British W.I., also donation to red cross and to the Delaware Athletic Club for the flood lights in ball park, bought card table for use in hall.
