LORD AND LADY TWEEDSMUIR LORD WEEDSMUIR Lord Tweedmuir was born Jonn Buchan, in Scotland on August 25, 1975 the son of Rev. John Bucnan. He was a Historian, Novelist and the Governor-General of Canada from 1935 to l9h0- He was called to the Bar in 1901. From 192? to 1935 he was a mamber of the British House of Commons for the Scottish Universities. In 1935 he was titled "Baron Tweodsmuir". He was the author of a number of biographies and historical works. "Memory hold the Door“ was his autobiography and one of his latest works. He was the first Lord Tweedsmuir and he died in Montreal on February ll, l9h0. His library was bequeathed to Queen's University at Kingston, Ontario.
