BRUCE COUNTY FARM SA Y REPORT Bruce East District The Bruce County Farm Ass. has had a busy year promoting safety in our homes and farmsn'nking them a safer place to live and work - it is an on going task - an accident is not always something that happens to someone else - we need to think and practice safety first. In 1996 there were a total of 20 farm fatalities in Ontario. 0‘ the“ 3 were children under the age of 15. It is up to us as adults to always set a good example foryoungsters. If you work safely so will your children as they follow their parents lead. Remember though children are still children and sometimes forget and are careless. As your represenativem Bruce County Farm Safety I helped three days at the Roots of Bruce in demonstrating a mock poison senerio. thild drinks bleach while you are babysitting, what to you do? A phone call was made to a mock Poison Control where information was given on what they would do. This was very effective. In March break Roberts Farm Equipment sponsored and supplied the facilities for a Safety Awareness Day for children. We helped with registration and safety demonstrations. This was very worthwhile with 50 children attending. Mark August 19, 1997 for the Child Safety Day Camp to be held in the Paisley Park. This is a day that children should not miss, there will be lots of exciting safety demonstrations with the OFF, Fire Department and etc. MTBruEeMsfldeé-EWWW forâ€"«all the food and volunWonp.
