Allan Holmvd is managing a Tropical Greenhouse Complex m which Caruso Fied tomatoes (a greenhouse brand) are being grown for Knechtel's Ltd. The greenhouses are heated with the waste steam from the Bruce Nuclear Power Development. The steam is convened Into hot water with heat exchangers, then runs through pipes in the greenhouse. and releases heal. Construutlon began on August 7. 1957. Each see tion or the greenhouse is 7 1/2 acres. and holds 40.000 plants. which are irrigated with water and nutrients by an automatic compuieh controlled irrigation system.
