Several Arnpn'or and area good Samaritans rewarded Members of the Arnprior and Disr trict Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and new South Women's Institutes were prominent among the volunteers hon- oured recently in ceremonies inuottawa and Petawawa. The provincial government hon~ cured hundreds of volunteers for their volunteer work in their communities. Some Arnprior and area award winners attended the Petawawa ceremony while others went to Ottawa. Joining Campbell as White Lake â€"â€"“'_ Wlers honoured were 40-year volun- teers Beverly Franceour, Ruth Reycroft and Alma Msjaury Several members of the ADMl-I Aux- iliary received 2004 Volunteer Service Awards. Those who attended. went to the Ottawa ceremony Diana Daze, Myrtle Severin and Guss Thompson were recognized for 15 years of service each. Receiving a 10-year pin was Phyllis Coghill. while Donna Smith and lrene Bruce were awarded Myear pins. Daze and Donna l-lyland also received 15-year pins for their volunteer work with the Grove Nursing Home. Helme Eggerstedt and Ruth Horrall received 10-year awards and Cecile Win- ter and Marion Siliefi five-year awards, also for volunteering at the Grove. Anita Schubrink of Arnprlor received a 10-year volunteer award for her work with the Rean County Unit of the Canadian Cancer Society Schubrink also received a five-year pin for her volunteer work with the Canadian National Institute for the Blind (CNIB). Five other Arnprior CNlB members received five-year pins â€" Ralph Sim mons, Dorothy Simmons. Verne J. Far- rell, Esther C. Farrell and Shirley Wagenblass. Elaine Pritchanl of Pakenham was recognized for her 25 years of volun- teering with the Ontario Eederation of School Athletic Associations. Jim Alexander of Braeside was rec- ognized for his 10 years with the Lake side Players Mary Shoup of Arnprior was given a fiveyear award for volunteering with the Western Ontario Community Resource Centre Ella Blair and John Shackleton of Can], were given 15-year awards for their shorts with the Huntley Township Historical Society. Alan and Glenda Jonesot’mrpwasncminatedbythe Valley Players of Almonte Doug McNab of Klnburn was hon- oured for his 15 years with the Ottawa Jazz Festival.
