(3‘. 1900 --- BYâ€"LAWS _--1 oo TowNSHIF 0F KINLOSS In the County of Bruce ' The following by-laws have been duly enacted by the Municipal Council of the Township of hinloss, shall be, and remain in force until altered or repealed: lst. That all fences shall be five feet high, including looks, or four feet six inches with the addition of Stakes and Eiders. That any person or persons having chopped or slashed or caused the same to be " done, or by any other means blocking up the roads, whether accidentally or otherwise, and leaving the same for the space of 2% hours shall be liable to a fine of not less than 35, and it shall be the duty of the Pathmaster (under the same penality) to give notice to the proper parties to remove the same, and in case of neglect or refusal to prosecute, by making complaint before a Magistrate. #th. That Pathmasters when notified by the Clerk of their appointment shall within twenty-one days subscribe to their Declaration of Office, before any person qualified to admunuster the same, and forward within six days to the Clerk or any Councillor, who shall forward the same to the Clerk. 5th. That Pathmasters be allowed to let contracts, in lieu of Statute labor. Said contracts to be completed before the ?5th day of July. No pathmaster shall allow stones to be put on the road larger than to to through a two inch ring unless brouen immediately after being put on. 6th. That any person liable to perform Statute Labor may compound for the same by paying to the Clerk, on or before the let day of June the sum of seventy-five cents for each days Statute Later. 7th. Phat it shall be the duty of the Pathmaster to demand from eiery male person 21 years of age ( not otherwise assessed) one day‘s Statute labor. 9th. lo Pathmaster sh all accept statute labor for any lands of Nonâ€"residents. Nor shall enter upon any Lands for the purposes of taking out gravel or other material, until the price to be paid for such gravel or other material has been agreed upon, and no claim for damages in hauling will be allowed by the Council. 9th. Lvery person little to perform itatute Labor, if not compounded for aforsaid shall either in person or by a sufficiently able bodied man in his stead,'be obliged, under the direction of the Overseer acting for his division to work faithfully on the said road, and shall tring with him such tools as he may be the owner of, and be directed by the Overseer to bring for, and during the time he may be liable to work on said road, allowing 9 hours for each day's work, exclusive of the time going and Coming to and from the place of work; and that every person within the township, Keeping a cart 0t wagon, or team ' \1 or other implements and one or more horses or yoke of oxen, shall send on every day he shall be required by the overseer, a team with a wagon or other @ inplements, and one ankle-bodied man to drive the some for such space of time '”U as he shall be required to work on the roads; and a day's word of a team and driver shall be equivalent to two days personal labor of one man and for a wagon or plough, oneâ€"half days laror will te allowed. 10th.
