In a short while he took over the 100 acre farm, Lot 2, Con 6, Kinloss Twp. and received the Crown Deed from the Government. As the saying goes "In the spring a young man's thoughts turn to love“ and so in March, 1875 he won the heart of a very fine young lass who sailed t3e"0cean alu e†from Ireland, namely Rachel Lockhart. To them were born four children, Dayid_ï¬amnel,Jghn_Ihgmas, Ann_lang and Magpie ï¬lizabet . Dazid remained single all his life and John mgmas was married in 1909 to Margaret Collins of Purple Grove, Huron Twp. Ann Jane in 1908 married Richard Creech of Pine River and Maggie Elizabeth in 1906 married William Martin of Paramount. To John T. and Margaret were born nine children, Rena Agnes, Alma Irene,DagiQ Henry, Jo n Co 1 ns, 0 ockhart, Irwin Isaac, Margaret Kathleen, Lillian Mable and a baby girl, stillborn. David Carruthers Sr. passed away in 189% at the age of 65 ad his wife, Rachel at the age of 78. David Samuel passed away in the year 1950, John T. passed away in the year 1927 and David Henry passed away in 1955. Irwin Carruthers passed away in Feb.,1970. The crown deed remained in the Carruthers name till 1959 when Irwin I. Carruthers sold it to the present owner Brian Doelman. To Richard and Jane Ann Creech were born three children, Eddie, John and Lillian» To Maggie Elizabeth and William Martin were born four children, Fred, Ethel, Id John and Goldie. Margaret E. Carruthers survives and to date Maylst., 1963 has 36 grandchildren and 1% great grandchildren- The Family of John T, and Margaret married in 1909 Bang â€" married Geo. Fisher in 1932 and resided west of Whitechurch on now Hwy. 86. They moved to Wingham and still live there. Rena teaches school and in 1970 is still teaching, now at Brookside Public School. They have a family of seven, Vivian, Bill, Gordon, Kathleen, Mary Margaret, Sandra and Doris. All are married but Doris who attends Wingham High School. Alma - Married Eldon Lowry, Huron Twp. in 1939. They have a family of nine, Marleng Perrin, Lynn, David, Wayne, Tinette, Carl, Elliott and Corrine. ngid H enry: married Margaret Bellfof Ripley in 1937. They have a family of three girls, Marilyn, Amelia and Janet. Marilyn is married to Donald Maclntyre of the 2nd. Concession of Kinloss; Amelia is married to John Murray and live on the 5th. concefsion of ninloes; Janet married Donald Bannerman in Dec, 1970. ï¬gbg â€" mirried Dorothy Elston. They have two daughters, Gayle and Anne John is a banker and lives in London. Irwin - Married Jean snathers )f London, daughter of J.C. Stothers of Ashfield, in 1951. They have a fanily of four, John, David, Julia and Andrew. They lived on the home farm till l9§9 when they sold the farm to Brian Doelman, and moved to Goderioh. Irwin died in Feb., 1970. Elliott â€" Married Grace bovd of \shfield Twp. in 19%;. They lived on the 6th. of Huron tlen bought farm Lot ll 5.H. on 6th. Con and made the large house into successful Nursing Home.
