5 COAT, +30“ Page 45 Lot 1 Con Kinloss VOL i North Half of Lot 1 â€" The original owner was Alexander Ross, who came from Prince Edward Island. After he died the farm was owned bv his son, John Ross. In 1906 John T. Carruthers bought this 50 acres for David S. Carruthers who returned to Kinloss after spending a number of vears in Sault Ste Marie. During a period before the John Carruthers family lived on this farm while a new red brick house was being built on Lot 2, Con 6. John T. died in 1927. Uncle Dave helped raise the family and lived with them till he passed away in 1950. This propertv was then bought bv David Henry Carruthers. South Half of Lot 1 - The original owner was Sam ,then Edward Pierce owned this farm. Onhis death it became the property of his,son, Dan. He passed away in 1935 and his son, Johnston became the new owner. Mrs. John T. Carruthers bought this property in 19H7 and in 1950 sold it to her son, David Henrv and Margaret Carruthers. They lived here till after David's sudden death in 1955. This property was later sold to John Button who is still the present owner in 1971.
