The guest speaker .was Fred Steimaoher, Principal of Alexan- dra Community School in Owen Sound. He described all schools us being "For the people, of the people and by the people." He showed slides on the projects at Alexandra, and explained it as being an experiment in the future, There are over 300 using the school facilities, in 18 programs. after school hours. The conveners or the standing committees gave very complete reports or the fifteen branches in the area. The scholarship report was given by Mrs. G. Maxwell. Board Direc- tor gave a complete report of the Provincial Spring Board meeting held in Guelph She stated there r conferred this past year. One at the F.W.I.0. major projects is the .‘ir. Institute. and Bruce â€" East has one of the two new branches in the Province. There are 1308 branches and over 30.000 mem- hers in the F.W.I.O. ‘ Bruce - East's membership stands at 400 and is up slightly. Twenty-two $100.00 Scholarships have been given at County and Provincial levels. She reported that all projects of the F,W.I.O. have closed, ex- cept the 75m Anniversary fund of ‘ $50,000 to Macdouaid Institute, l which now stands at $29,000, and is scheduled to he reached by 1972. The new price of the institute 1 cup and saucer will be $3.70, and T. Eaton Co. is the sole distribu- tor.
