FELL'S FARM HISTORY I Lot 43 Con. 3 Andrew Kirstine Sr. (1332-1917). 09 April 2nd 1863 he married Susan Hoar. They had nine children. William married Martha Rowan in the year 1897. He bought lot 43 con. 3 in 1893 from Wm. Dickison. originally owned by John MacVicor (1862). They had on son Graeme. Graeme went to Agriculture College in Guelph, and was educated to be an agricultural representative. He came home and_ bought lot #2 con. 3 in 1926. In the same year he married Kathleen Hammill. She died in 1971+. Graeme remarried Connie Latah in 1976. In 1930 he sold the farm back to his father, and moved to St. Mary‘s. The original deed for lot #3, con. 3 was issued in Nov. 1862 to John MacVivar for the sum of $100.00. There were 50 acres in 1873 the deed was transferred to Wm. Dickison and to Graeme‘s father in 1893. He retired in 1938 and sold the property to Charles Tanner. The house was built about 1897. It was of brick construction located where the Jack Fell house stands to day. It contained 6 rooms. pantry and stairway, plus a brick back kitchen and a frame woodshed. The barn was built in 1897. It had a stone masonry foundation to provide stables. It was a single driveway. bank barn with full cows on each side. An addition to the original barn was made around 1910. There was a round mill with a powered pump from the spring for drinking water. There was a brick lined cistern for soft water. In 1926 lot £2 con. 3 was added to lot hj. It was purchased from Russel Hutton and sold to Andrew Kirstine Jr. in 1930. One of the first silos in the community wasbuilt beâ€" side the barn on lot 43. It was small compared to the silos of to day, about 12 by 30 feet round. There were 50 acres on lot #3 when it was sold to Charles Tanner in 1938, he sold it to his son George and his wife Lillian Forester, and when George died'in lQSQ, Lillian sold it to Mel Perkins in 1959.
